Finding a history book is easy; finding a great history book - not so much. Although there are thousands and thousands of history books to read, we only have a limited amount of time to read them. And it is distressing when you waste your time with a book that you don’t enjoy.
At Hektor Dantes, we review history books to give you a heads up about history books that you might want to read. These reviews aren’t recommendations per se, but merely guides to help you find books that match your reading style.
Let’s face it, many history books are not great reads. Even if you are interested in the subject, many books are difficult to get through. Some are written for experts, while others seem to be written for children. Some are excruciatingly heavy on detail, while others are annoyingly shallow. In some history books the scholarship is excellent but the writing is, well, not. Other history books are exciting to read but nearly worthless for learning anything of value.
We would love to hear your comments about these or any other books. If there are any books you would like us to review, please send us an email at support@hektordantes.com.
Happy reading!
